Hahn’s Belgian style white beer launches in new shared format

Hahn White – Brewed to share

HAHN White Logo

Following strong results from a targeted tap launch in November 2010, Hahn White, a Belgian style wheat beer or ‘white’ beer will now also be available in a new 735ml wine shaped bottle, designed to share. Containing a lower percentage of wheat than traditional white beers for an accessible and refreshing taste, Hahn White has been brewed specifically for the Australian palate and climate. It’s also lower in alcohol than other full strength beers and is low in carbohydrates and sugar.
With its great taste and elegant bottle shape, Hahn White is set to make entertaining at dinner parties, BBQs and other social occasions effortless. Subtly spiced with essences of orange and coriander it’s excellent with food and makes a great alternative to wine.
Matt Tapper, Lion Nathan Marketing Director believes men and women who socialise together are increasingly looking for food and drinks they can share.
“The 735ml format of Hahn White makes it easier for friends to share a glass when they’re having drinks at the local, or when they’re sitting down to dinner in the evening ,” said Matt.
For the calorie conscious, a 735ml bottle of Hahn White is low in carbohydrates and sugar making it ideal for the contemporary Australian lifestyle where it’s all about getting the balance right, especially in the New Year post-Christmas holidays.
Hahn White again captures the true essence of a Belgian style white beer by being served the traditional Belgian way – with a slice of orange.
“It’s great on its own but for those who want to give the beer a sensory lift, serve it with a slice of orange. The serving style is called the ‘Carousel Ritual’ because cutting an orange this way is referred to as the ‘Carousel Cut,’” said Matt.
With its delicate coriander and orange notes, the beer can be served with a range of foods including fragrant Thai and seafood dishes. It has an alcohol content of 4.2% ABV and contains no artificial additives or preservatives.
Hahn White is also available in 330ml bottles and is now on tap nationally. A 735ml bottle will retail for around $8.99 with a six-pack of Hahn White available at a RRP of $15.99.

Beer Style: Wit Recipe Type: all-grain Description: Here's an all-grain recipe for a lovely wheat ale I brewed last fall which uses Wyeast's Belgian Ale yeast rather than the Bavarian Wheat, with plenty of nice clove aftertaste resulting. It is a light, refreshing beer, perfect for summer (pretty good for winter, too, which is when I drank it).
